It has been claimed that CHP's Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal will join the AKP.

Later, journalist Sinan Burhan also stated on his social media account, "Afyon Mayor Burcu Köksal will resign from the CHP and join the AK Party."

Regarding the matter, journalist İsmail Saymaz said, "An interesting situation. I sent a message to Afyon Mayor Burcu Köksal and her husband.

I called her husband, Mr. Yasin. They did not return the call.

It is stated that Burcu Köksal is currently outside of Afyon. Let's see what comes of it?"

CLAIMS OF DEFECTION IN LOCAL MEDIA

According to claims in the local media of Afyonkarahisar, CHP's Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal held meetings in Ankara and submitted her declaration of intent to join the AKP to President Erdoğan through intermediaries.

According to information in the Kocatepe newspaper, it was alleged that in addition to Köksal, Dinar Mayor Veysel Topçu and Evciler Mayor Berrin Uğurlu also applied to resign from the CHP and switch to the AKP.

If these defections take place, the number of CHP mayors in Afyonkarahisar will drop to three, consisting of Başmakçı, Yeşilçiftlik, and Karaadilli.
