Republican People's Party (CHP) Ankara Provincial Chair Ümit Erkol was detained in Ankara on April 9 as part of a cooperative investigation conducted into the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Erkol's processing in Ankara was completed this morning.

The 9 people detained as part of the investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding alleged irregularities through İZBETON A.Ş., including Ümit Erkol, were referred to the courthouse following their processing by the gendarmerie.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Within the scope of the investigation known in the public eye as the "cooperative case," detention warrants had been issued for a total of 157 people, including former İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer, CHP İzmir Provincial Chair Şenol Aslanoğlu, and former İZBETON General Manager Heval Savaş Kaya.
