It has been announced that the Republican People's Party (CHP) cat, Şero, has passed away.

The news of his death was announced by Dr. Tarkan Özçetin, Chief Physician at the Cat Hospital.

Özçetin made the following statement on his social media account:

"It is with great sadness that we announce that ŞERO, the CHP cat who has been a source of smiles in Turkish politics for 20 years and has won the hearts of all animal lovers, passed away as of this morning following his treatment process at our hospital.

ŞERO, who had been under observation at our hospital for some time due to his advanced age of 20 and age-related health problems, unfortunately left us despite all interventions. ŞERO's medical process was followed meticulously, and every necessary treatment was applied with the support of the most advanced technologies and our expert staff.

However, he lost his life in the morning hours as a result of chronic health problems that developed due to his age. We offer our deepest condolences to the CHP family and all his loved ones. May we all have patience. We respectfully present this to the public's information."

Şero, who lived at the party's headquarters for many years and occasionally appeared on the political agenda as the CHP's mascot, was over 20 years old.
