CHP Chairman Özgür Özel arrived in Adana for a series of visits. Speaking to citizens gathered in front of the Adana Metropolitan Municipality stone building, Özel said, "I am addressing the government and the ruling power from here. We will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan next week.
We suggest that he give good news not to me, but to the nation, and increase the holiday bonus to 1 minimum wage, that is, 17 thousand TL. As the Republican People's Party, we hear each of your voices individually," he said.
"WE WILL DROP 1 ZERO FROM THE CURRENCY"
Stating that they would drop 1 zero from the currency, Özel said, "We will not drop 6 zeros from both bread and salaries like they did. When we drop the zero, we will not drop it from salaries; we will drop it from electricity, water, bread, fertilizer, diesel, and prices. We are coming to drop just one zero.
By dropping that one zero, we will increase your purchasing power 10-fold in 10 years. The way to drop a zero from goods without dropping a zero from salaries is the path of the European Union.
That path is the path of contemporary civilizations. That path is the path to a national income of 55 thousand dollars per year. We promise, we will increase the national income.
We will take more from those who earn more, and less from those who earn less. We will not touch the poor; we will feed them. We promise," he said.
