Following the death of Şero, also known as the cat of the CHP, Özel shared a post on his social media account with the following statements:
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved cat Şero, who has been with us since the construction of our Headquarters building and brought joy and energy to our party, due to health problems related to old age.
We have laid our Şero, a close friend of our former Chairmen Deniz Baykal and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and a favorite of all our party staff, to rest in the garden of our Headquarters.
We would also like to thank Veterinarian Dr. Tarkan Özçetin, who took close care of Şero and all our other friends at our party during this process."
