According to the ruling, Özgür Özel, who led the CHP to become the leading party for the first time in 47 years, and his administration have been provisionally removed from office, while Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration are set to return to duty.

Finally, an appeal filed with the Supreme Election Council (YSK) regarding the decision was rejected today.

ÖZEL SPOKE WITH KILIÇDAROĞLU

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and the 7th CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu spoke over the phone.

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's press advisor, Atakan Sönmez, made the following statements regarding the content of the conversation:

"During the conversation, Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu conveyed his intention to take the party to a convention at the most appropriate time to Mr. Özgür Özel. Özgür Özel stated that his own requests were in this direction as well and that he was pleased with this. He indicated that he would evaluate this matter with his colleagues and then get back to Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu."

When asked, "Will there be a face-to-face meeting?", Sönmez replied, "There is nothing of that sort in the content of the conversation at the moment."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Following the absolute nullity ruling against the CHP, Kılıçdaroğlu had called Özgür Özel last night, but Özel did not answer.

In a statement today, Özel mentioned that he had returned Kılıçdaroğlu's call but could not reach him. Özel had used the following expressions:

"It was stated that Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu called me yesterday; during that busy schedule, our mayor friend stated that the former chairman had called me. I returned his call around noon today, but his phone was off when I called, so a conversation did not take place. However, if his phone is on or if he calls again, we will of course have a phone conversation with him, but our statements regarding our position in this situation are framed by the speeches we made at our press conference last night."
