CHP's convention lawsuit, trustee claims, and Kılıçdaroğlu: 'There is a serious division...'

Speaking on the claims that the CHP convention where Özgür Özel was elected chairman could be annulled and a trustee appointed, TGRT Haber Ankara Representative Fatih Atik said, "A trustee decision could be made for the CHP while the court case is ongoing. However, if the CHP decides to hold an Extraordinary Convention during such a process, the case would be dropped." Claiming there is a division within the CHP, Atik added, "It also seems possible for Kemal Bey to return to duty. We could see Kemal Bey as chairman again."

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was detained yesterday morning in a dawn operation as part of an investigation into 'terrorism' and 'corruption' launched against the municipality.

While reactions to İmamoğlu's detention are growing like an avalanche, a claim that will shake the agenda regarding the CHP's convention lawsuit has been put forward. 

While it is claimed that the convention won by Özgür Özel against Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu could be annulled and a trustee appointed to the CHP, TGRT Haber Ankara Director Fatih Atik, known for his proximity to the government, shared some information he obtained regarding the matter.

Atik said, "A trustee decision could be made for the CHP while the court case is ongoing. However, if the CHP decides to hold an Extraordinary Convention during such a process, the case would be dropped."


'IT COULD COMPLETELY RESET THE PROCESS'

Speaking about the CHP's convention process, Atik made the following statements:

"The information I am about to give is clear. Even if a trustee decision is made, a decision can be taken to change the management by holding an Extraordinary Convention for the CHP. I asked this information clearly to the prosecutor's office and court authorities. If such a process proceeds and the CHP decides to hold an Extraordinary Convention during this time, the case becomes moot and is dropped. In other words, a decision by the CHP for an Extraordinary Convention could completely reset the process."

KILIÇDAROĞLU CLAIM THAT WILL SHAKE THE AGENDA

On the other hand, stating 'There is truly a division within the CHP,' Atik also made striking remarks about the former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: 

"It also seems possible for Kemal Bey to return to duty. We could see Kemal Bey as chairman again. There is a serious division within the CHP."
