CHP's Akdoğan shares: The behind-the-scenes of the Erdoğan chants at Anıtkabir

CHP deputy Umut Akdoğan reacted strongly to the chants made during the official ceremony held at Anıtkabir as part of the August 30 Victory Day celebrations. Akdoğan expressed his reaction by saying, "This is a cemetery, is this something that should be done? Is this same shame to be repeated every year? Can chants be made at the head of Atatürk's grave?" In the footage he shared, the individuals chanting were heard saying, "We are coming from the party organization, we are coming from the Presidency."

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the accompanying state officials visited Anıtkabir on the 103rd anniversary of the August 30 Victory Day.

'ERDOĞAN' CHANTS AGAIN AT ANITKABIR

During the visit, chants in favor of President Erdoğan such as "Recep Tayyip Erdoğan," "Tayyip Erdoğan, the hope of the Ummah," and "Reis" (The Chief) were heard.

Despite being against the law, the chant crisis at Anıtkabir continued this year as well.

CHP'S AKDOĞAN HAD SAID 'I WARNED'

CHP deputy Umut Akdoğan had made a statement before the visit of Erdoğan and the accompanying state officials to Anıtkabir, saying, "I warned all authorities so that 'Recep Tayyip Erdoğan' chants would not be made at Anıtkabir. If mobilized groups are made to chant again in the morning, we will voice our reaction on the spot on behalf of the nation."

While the chanting despite the warnings caused reactions, CHP's Akdoğan said, "An agreement was reached between the institutions last night that 'okay, no one will come.' Today, the same shame was committed again," adding, "We are publishing the footage from end to beginning. First, I requested in the most polite way. It did not stop. It was inevitable to react."

Akdoğan also shared his conversations with those in the area before Erdoğan arrived.

Sharing the footage on his X account, Akdoğan said, "In the conversation at the end, you hear the words 'we are coming from the party organization' and 'we are coming from the Presidency.' If a government resorts to such an act after 23 years, it means its end has come. We said this shame is of no use to anyone, but it is a matter of resorting to such things... Shame on them."

“THE AGREEMENT WAS NOT KEPT”

CHP's Akdoğan added:

“After we left, the X-Ray devices were still being installed. Preparations were being made to open it to the public. While people were waiting on the streets to enter, the chanters were already inside. The agreement was not kept. On the morning of October 29, the first official ceremony, we will be at the gates of Anıtkabir with our party members and concerned citizens. Will our fellow citizens from Ankara not be able to enter Anıtkabir, which the AK Party organization has entered?”

“THIS IS A CEMETERY, CAN SUCH A SHAME HAPPEN EVERY YEAR?”

In the speech Akdoğan made in front of Anıtkabir, he is heard saying, "This is a cemetery, is this something to be done? Can this shame happen every year? We are talking to all levels of the state, there is no need for this shame. We have talked to the Presidency, we have talked to the Ministry of National Defense, we have talked to Anıtkabir. Atatürk's grave is here, can there be chanting?"
