CHP's Günaydın announces: Not a single MP has been allowed to see İmamoğlu for five days

Günaydın stated that according to the January 2026 budget realizations, there was an expenditure of 1 trillion 635 billion liras against an income of 1 trillion 421 billion liras, resulting in a budget deficit of 214.5 billion TL.

Stating that this is the performance that has emerged despite the rhetoric of "Great Turkey," "Century of Turkey," and "Our economy is very strong," Günaydın conveyed that Minister of Finance Mehmet Şimşek said that foreign debt is being taken to pay interest.

Expressing that the majority of the income consists of taxes and fines, Günaydın said that 1 trillion 181 billion TL in taxes were collected in January, and while an annual target of 348 billion TL in fines was set, 802 billion TL in fines were issued in the first month alone.

Touching upon retiree bonuses, Günaydın stated that it was claimed that increasing the 4,000 TL bonus to 5,000 TL would place a burden of 17 billion TL on the budget, whereas 456 billion TL in interest was paid in January alone.

He said that the amount to be given to 17 million retirees is not even 4 percent of the money paid for interest.

"This situation cannot continue like this. You say the month of Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness; we know what you did during Ramadan last year, and Ramadan has come again this year," said Günaydın, continuing as follows:

"The Minister of Justice has changed. Mehmet Yılmaz is now in charge of prison and detention center permits. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday; today is Wednesday, and not a single MP has been allowed to see Ekrem İmamoğlu for five days.

Do you think you can disconnect Mayor Ekrem and his colleagues from the public by isolating and segregating them? These acts of cruelty will backfire on you. We will not abandon any of our friends to the concrete, and we will hold you accountable for these one by one."
