CHP's Yavuzyılmaz announces: According to the preliminary expert report on the mining disaster, Anagold is not 'primarily at fault'

The Preliminary Expert Report prepared by the Erzincan Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has been concluded. In the report shared by CHP's Yavuzyılmaz, it is observed that the employer, Anagold Madencilik, was not found to be primarily at fault.

According to the Preliminary Expert Report prepared by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the acting operations director was found to be primarily at fault for failing to have risky situations analyzed and for failing to take the necessary measures to protect employees from risks.
The report stated that "as a competent authority, they failed to identify potential dangerous situations on the construction site and take necessary measures to protect against risks, failed to establish a necessary inspection and oversight mechanism at the workplace to ensure that employees' health was not negatively affected, or if they did establish one, failed to enforce it, and as an authorized person, displayed imprudent behavior regarding the fact that cracks forming in the heap in the morning could lead to negative consequences on the site."
Due to the failure to close the openings and cracks that were stated to have formed in the heap over a long period, the process oxide manager, oxide operations chief engineer, oxide operations engineer, and piping supervisor were found to be primarily at fault.
Furthermore, the field engineer and field foreman of the subcontractor company Çiftay A.Ş., the foreman and engineer of Kar-Sa A.Ş., the company managers and field supervisor of Asil Çöpler A.Ş., and the company managers and field supervisor of Asil Keklik A.Ş. were found to be secondarily at fault for failing to take precautions despite the detection of cracks in the heap in the morning.
