Detention announcement from CHP's Yavuzyılmaz: Former Devrek Mayor Çetin Bozkurt detained
Upon the instructions of the Devrek Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Zonguldak Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch conducted simultaneous operations this morning as part of a corruption investigation.

CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz announced that the former mayor of Devrek, Zonguldak, Çetin Bozkurt, and 7 other individuals have been detained.
In his post announcing Bozkurt's detention, Yavuzyılmaz stated, "We see that an attempt is being made to fabricate crimes against our esteemed mayor. We also know that these detentions are politically motivated."
The operation, which followed inspections by Ministry of Interior inspectors, resulted in the detention of former Devrek Mayor Çetin Bozkurt, as well as Raif Kabasakal, Nafia Çakır, Recep Korun, İsmail Karademir, Engin Kösekadam, Umut Karademir, and Tuncay Ulupınar. The detained individuals were brought to the Provincial Police Department following health checks. The investigation is ongoing.

CHP Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz expressed his reaction on his social media account. In his post, Yavuzyılmaz used the following expressions:

We see that an attempt is being made to fabricate crimes against our esteemed mayor. We also know that these detentions are politically motivated.
I am addressing the public officials who have been put in the position of hitmen.
If you have the courage, investigate and probe the current and previous AK Party municipalities, let's see!
We stand with Çetin Bozkurt!"
