The deadline granted to the AKP regarding the violation and release ruling issued by the ECHR for former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş expires tomorrow.

CHP Diyarbakır MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu made striking statements regarding Demirtaş, who has been imprisoned for 9 years, following the second violation and release ruling.

CHP Diyarbakır MP Sezgin Tanrıkulu expressed his reaction in the Turkish Grand National Assembly to the fact that Demirtaş has not been released despite ECHR rulings.

Arguing that Demirtaş is a political hostage of the Kurdish issue in Turkey, Tanrıkulu said the following:

"Dear colleagues, the Kobane Case we are discussing today is a political case and a political conspiracy case. I have watched and followed all the hearings and sessions of the entire case. I received information from and spoke with the lawyers who were following it.

If I were to say some things here now, you would be ashamed. There is also a process underway. For the sake of that, perhaps I won't say everything directly like this, but let me speak plainly.

This case was opened based on a political directive and decision. That political decision belongs to the Justice and Development Party with the support of the Nationalist Movement Party. If this case is to be concluded today, it will not be concluded in the appellate court. It will be concluded with the support of the Nationalist Movement Party and the decision to be made by the Justice and Development Party. This is the truth and the essence of the matter.

Therefore, the appellate court and the trials are just a story. Why are they a story?

Now, take the words Mr. Erdoğan has spoken regarding this case and Mr. Demirtaş. You know what they mean. An ECHR ruling came out, you said 'we will do what is necessary,' and then this case happened.

When did it happen? October 4, October 6, 2014. Well, when did this investigation start? 2018! When was Selahattin Demirtaş's statement taken? 2019.

Such grave events will occur, and for four years, as written in the grave indictment, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office will not take any action. Tell me, who believes this?

In 2016, parliamentary immunity regarding Selahattin Demirtaş was lifted here. All investigation files were sent to the relevant prosecutor's offices. There is not a single document regarding the Kobane Case. Then the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office produced forged documents. It produced forged documents. I showed that forged document here. With that document, it included Selahattin Demirtaş and the suspects who were MPs in the investigation. Then what did you do? You made that Chief Prosecutor a member of the Court of Cassation.

Look, dear colleagues, an indictment for a case should not be that many thousands of pages long. A court ruling should not be thirty-two thousand pages long. A court ruling should not take a year to be written. A year, friends, a year!

Look at these, if you really have any conscience, you should be ashamed. I am putting it mildly, that is. This is a political conspiracy case. Selahattin Demirtaş, Figen Yüksekdağ, and the politicians are the hostages of this conspiracy. These things need to be known.

"IT WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU"

If there is a process today, then what are they doing in prison now? Well, is there an act related to violence in this ruling? Is there a conviction? No. You talked for years, you used Yasin Börü, you said. I bow with respect before his memory. Is there a conviction ruling related to this? No. Then why is he in prison? He gave a speech at a rally, he went to a funeral. Is there anything else besides this? Look, people have been in prison for nine years.

Now you are doing the same thing to the CHP. That period is over, a new period has begun. You are doing it with the same political decisions, the same lawlessness, and the same actors, the same judicial actors.

I am warning you once again from here. This will come back around and haunt you. The same judicial members will come back to haunt you.

That is why I am saying it once again, give this up. You made that political decision. Revoke that political decision."
