A striking detail caught the eye in a photo shared on social media by AKP Rize Provincial Chairman Yılmaz Katmer.

The photo featured Yılmaz Katmer, AKP Rize deputies Muhammet Avcı and Harun Mertoğlu, as well as AKP Rize Mayor Rahmi Metin and Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş.

It was observed that Rize Governor Baydaş was in the driver's seat of the car in which the AKP members were traveling. Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın reacted to Katmer's post.

Sharing the image on his X account, Günaydın described it as "a snapshot of a one-party state" and stated the following:

"The person driving the vehicle is Rize Governor Selim Baydaş. Beside him is AKP Rize deputy Muhammet Avcı. In the back: AKP Rize deputy Harun Mertoğlu, Rize AKP Mayor Rahmi Metin, and AKP Rize Provincial Chairman Yılmaz Katmer (who shared the photo on social media).

They have become so reckless that the AKP provincial chairman uses this on his social media. The Governor is acting as a chauffeur for the AKP team. This is not a photo that can be tolerated; its being taken is a serious scandal, and the state of mind that felt no hesitation in sharing this photo on social media is another scandal."
