CHP Group Deputy Chair Gökhan Günaydın responds to criticisms of 'Has the CHP fallen into line with the AKP?'

CHP Group Deputy Chair Gökhan Günaydın, who was a guest on the program '12'den' with Tuncay Mollaveisoğlu, broadcast on 12punto.com.tr's YouTube channel, made important statements.

Addressing the meeting between Özgür Özel and Erdoğan, which continues to occupy the agenda, Günaydın responded to the criticisms of 'Has the CHP fallen into line with the AKP?'

"CONTRARY TO THE NATURAL FLOW OF LIFE"

Is meeting with Erdoğan something that shouldn't be done? I mean, the CHP is currently the leading party according to the latest election, and the second party according to the one before that.

Should Erdoğan and Özel not come together? Should he not meet with the CHP chairman, not sit down with the MHP, and not talk to the IYI Party? Does that sound logical to you? I mean, we sit side-by-side with all deputies in parliament. There are deputy speakers of the parliament, they come from every party.

There are group deputy chairs, they come from every party, and they talk every day. But leaders shouldn't come together, shouldn't sit down? I think this is abnormal; it is what is contrary to the natural flow of life.

Well, does meeting face-to-face mean falling into line with the AKP? I mean, this was discussed a lot through the metaphor of negotiation versus struggle. What are you bringing there? What is in your bag? And how are you discussing and talking about it? How are you communicating this? That is what the issue boils down to.

"ÖZGÜR ÖZEL'S BAG CONTAINED THE COUNTRY'S PROBLEMS"

Let's be clear, when the leader of the Republican People's Party, Mr. Özgür Özel, sat across from Erdoğan, his bag contained the problems of the country.

He said, increase the minimum wage, make it 25,000 TL. He said, determine the minimum wage twice a year. He said, focus the lowest pension on the minimum wage, bring it to the same level.

Agricultural prices are very low for tea, wheat, and others. He said, move these agricultural prices to the right points. There are major injustices in the judiciary in Turkey, he said, solve the judicial problems. You are making strange mistakes in foreign relations, he said, fix these.

He brought up many issues like these. Well, when the bag on the other side was opened, what came out of Erdoğan's bag? Only the constitution.

When pressed on these, Erdoğan said this: One shouldn't be populist. In other words, according to Erdoğan, when you tell the citizen to raise the minimum wage twice a year to 25,000 TL and increase pensions, that is populism.
