The investigations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into allegations of corruption targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) have extended to Adana and Adıyaman.
Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere were detained this morning in a dawn operation.
CHP member Abdurrahman Tutdere, who was elected mayor in Adıyaman, had stated that the resources transferred to the Menzil sect would be cut off. Those words of Tutdere have become a topic of discussion once again.
Tutdere had said, “I will never allow the nation's money or the municipality's resources to be used by religious communities. No one can come to me with such demands. The municipality's resources will be transferred to the public, not to Menzil. They should not come to my door.”
