Following the arrest of Mayor Hasbi Dede in the Görele district of Giresun, a temporary arrangement has been made in the municipal administration.
With the official appointment by the Görele District Governorship, municipal council member Hüseyin Çakıcı has been appointed as the interim mayor. It was reported that Çakıcı will serve as acting mayor until a new mayor is elected.
MAYORAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN THE COUNCIL
There are a total of 11 members in the Görele Municipal Council, including 7 from the CHP and 4 from the AKP. It was stated that the new mayor will be determined as a result of an election to be held with the participation of the council members.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Görele District Mayor Hasbi Dede was summoned to testify on February 8 as part of an investigation into a message allegedly shared from his social media account. Dede was released under judicial control by the court he was brought before on February 9.
Dede, who was invited to testify again by the prosecutor's office on February 10, was referred to the court with a request for arrest following his procedures at the prosecutor's office, and was arrested and sent to prison by the court he was brought before.
ALLEGATIONS IN THE INVESTIGATION FILE
It is alleged that Mayor Dede sexually harassed a 16-year-old girl via messages.
In the investigation file, it was stated that Dede committed the crime of "sexual harassment against a child by taking advantage of the convenience provided by electronic communication tools," and it was reported that the messages allegedly sent to the girl were also included in the file.
