Nazlıaka traveled to the district to make a statement regarding the sexual harassment allegations at the Karaman Başyayla Care, Rehabilitation and Family Counseling Center. Nazlıaka said, "These incidents are not isolated. What we are experiencing is a reflection of a systematic decay.

Unfortunately, everything in Turkey is falling apart. Diplomas, title deeds, citizenship documents, and medical prescriptions are fake. But there is one reality, and that is that this perverted mentality is roaming more freely in Turkey every day, and when the necessary investigations are not carried out, these perverted mentalities become even more emboldened," she said.

Aylin Nazlıaka made the following statements during her visit to the Başyayla Care, Rehabilitation and Family Counseling Center, which is affiliated with the Karaman Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services:

"As you know, an abuse case hit the press yesterday, and the news that a child in a care and rehabilitation center belonging to the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Başyayla had been abused took its place on Turkey's agenda like a bombshell. Following this, I called the Provincial Director of Family and Social Services yesterday. He was on leave, but I spoke with the deputy provincial director. The deputy provincial director made an unbelievable statement.

He said, 'Yes, the child may have been abused, but she was already an adult.' Therefore, we brought this back to the press's agenda, and while we were on the road to Karaman today, we were called by the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The Ministry of Family and Social Services has launched an investigation into the person who made this unbelievable remark yesterday. First of all, I would like to thank the Ministry of Family and Social Services for this stance. But it is a fact that we have reached a point in Turkey where we have to thank the ministry for doing what it should have done anyway, for something that was already wrong.

"WE CAN CHANGE THIS WITH A CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT"

Turkey is like a burning building; cries are rising from everywhere. We can no longer change this order with the approaches of ministers. We can only change this order with a change of government that will take place in an early election. That is why we want the ministries to listen to us in the coming period as well. As the Shadow Minister of Family and Social Services, I try to be wherever there is a problem. Again, our deputies, our organization, and our party officials at every level strive to be wherever there is a human rights violation, wherever there is a problem, and wherever there is a cry for help.

"THERE IS ONE REALITY"

There is one reality; these incidents are not isolated. What we are experiencing is a reflection of a systematic decay. Unfortunately, everything in Turkey is falling apart. In the current picture, we see that everything is fake. Diplomas, title deeds, citizenship documents, and medical prescriptions are fake. But there is one reality, and that is that this perverted mentality is roaming more freely in Turkey every day, and when the necessary investigations are not carried out, these perverted mentalities become even more emboldened. We will continue to pursue these truths."

Stating that there are also other abuse cases, Nazlıaka continued:

"In Istanbul, a mentally disabled child was sexually abused. Again, in Yalova, a child was abused by her older brother and his two friends, and she was handed over to the ministry so that she would be safe. The ministry took her under protection. Lo and behold, the child under protection was abused once again. I just spoke with the child who was abused, and she said this to me: 'I am entrusted to the state; my name is referred to as the state's child. They always told us that. You are the state's children. If I cannot trust the state, who can I trust? If I cannot trust the state's official, who can I trust?' I would like to repeat to her and to others who have experienced such grievances what I said: We are here, the Republican People's Party is here. Our Republic is the protector of the unprotected. The Republican People's Party will continue to look after our Republic and everyone who feels unprotected, and our children will never be left without a protector.

"WE ARE ALSO REMINDING THEM OF THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES"

This incident is not a singular case. It is actually the institutionalized form of the incompetence, lack of supervision, chain of negligence, rent-seeking, political loyalty, and gender blindness we are experiencing. We will never allow this. We are once again reminding those who have forgotten the requirements of being a state of their responsibilities. Because we are not among those who say 'nothing happens from one time.' We are not among those who talk about the 'consent of the minor' in abuse cases. We stand behind our children under all circumstances. What needs to be done is very clear. This person must be banned from the profession as soon as possible. The judicial process must begin immediately, and this judicial process must be conducted in a way that is open to the public. Everyone must hear for themselves what is what. And I would like to ask here; with what merit was this person appointed? Also, this person has adopted a 6-year-old girl. Of course, we are also concerned about the physical and psychological safety of that 6-year-old girl. And we will follow that process to the end. How could this person become a foster parent? We will get to the bottom of this.

REACTION TO LACK OF SUPERVISION

Furthermore, we heard that another case had occurred in Karaman before. However, the perpetrator in that case was quickly retired to cover it up. We are demanding here from the ministry that this issue also be investigated again. Why is there no independent audit? We are shouting this once again. And we say it again; our children are not without a protector in this country. We are here, and we will continue to defend the rights of our children to the end. As the Republican People's Party, we will continue to be in the field at every moment and stand by the oppressed."
