CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik made statements at the primary election center in Saraçhane.

Stating that the operation was planned, Çelik expressed that renovations began 10 days ago at Marmara Prison in Silivri and that preparations were being made.

Çelik spoke as follows:

''Arriving at the election center in Saraçhane, Özgür Çelik made a notable statement at the ballot box. Çelik stated that according to information they received from Silivri, activity began 10 days ago and that the cell where Halk TV Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş was also held has been emptied.

'A GOVERNMENT THAT HAS LOST THE ABILITY TO THINK RATIONALLY'

At 5:45, they brought Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu before a judge. It is a time-adjusted operation. That is, the day the ballot box was to be set up, the day the Republican People's Party's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was to emerge from the ballot box. They had one concern. I now define them as follows: A government that has lost the ability to think rationally. And a government leader who has lost the ability to think rationally. That is, a government that has risked everything at the expense of protecting its own power, that has been lying for days, slandering for days, and smearing for days with its politicized judiciary and the media it has brought under its domination, has carried out a time-adjusted operation.

'THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REMOVE US FROM HERE'

Because their first goal was to prevent this ballot box from being set up here. Their second goal is that they want to seize Saraçhane. Just as they seized Esenyurt, they want to seize this place. We will not give this place to them. They will not be able to remove us from here. We are right here. The youth are here, the women are here, the people of Istanbul are here, and I invite all Istanbulites to Saraçhane after they cast their votes. And I invite all the children of Istanbul to write their pictures and feelings and drop them into these ballot boxes. I believe this was also Ekrem İmamoğlu's message. It was Mayor Ekrem's call. Yes, Mayor Ekrem had invited all Istanbulites to vote.''
