CHP's Özgür Karabat makes a highly controversial claim about the National Lottery: 400 million lira New Year's jackpot went to Colombia

CHP Deputy Chairman Özgür Karabat has alleged that the National Lottery's 400 million TL New Year's jackpot was won by an online ticket purchased in Colombia.

The National Lottery's 400 million TL grand prize for the New Year was won by a full ticket with the number "3550054".

COLOMBIA CLAIM TAKES CENTER STAGE

While it was learned that the ticket was purchased via Milli Piyango Online, claims emerged on social media that the ticket was won in Colombia.

Regarding the issue, Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman and Istanbul MP Özgür Karabat stated in a post on his X account, "The jackpot of Demirören, who does not pay his debts to the state, is also dubious."

Sharing the information that "the 400 million lira New Year's jackpot went to Colombia," Karabat said, "Before the National Lottery jackpot, we need to talk about why there are question marks here."

"A TOTAL SCANDAL"

CHP's Karabat explained the following:

"Demirören, who bought Doğan Media Group's companies with a Ziraat Bank loan, turned reputable media outlets, primarily Hürriyet, into partisan mouthpieces. Demirören created a media group that acts as a mouthpiece for the government. He made this purchase with a state-provided loan and never paid back his debt of nearly 1 billion dollars. He gave land in exchange for a portion of his debt, but it is also alleged that the land was overvalued and the public was defrauded.

No matter how you look at it, it is a total scandal. Now, the AKP has gone and given the National Lottery to a person who does such wrong things. Demirören also took on an Italian partner. This Italian partner, Sisal, is a very famous company in the world. But it is very famous for money laundering and virtual gambling! Sisal's website is blocked from access in Turkey. They handed over the National Lottery to such a company. Later, Sisal was sold to the Irish company Flutter Entertainment. Not even a statement was made about this. In other words, the National Lottery's partner is bouncing around among betting and gambling companies in Europe. Those who claim 'nas' (religious decree) and plunged the country into its greatest crisis in history are doing business with European gambling and betting barons. Gambling is prohibited in Turkey. However, there is actual gambling and slot games on the National Lottery's website, and these are presented under the name of a draw. This is a privilege granted to the Demirörens."

"IT IS INTERESTING THAT THE NAME OF A COUNTRY LIKE COLOMBIA IS MENTIONED"

Saying, "Now they say the grand prize went to a lucky winner who bought an online ticket in Colombia," Karabat added, "People on social media are naturally questioning this. We are questioning it too. Especially since it is very interesting that the name of a country like Colombia, where closed and dark relationships are conducted, is mentioned."

Asking, "What is Colombia known for?" Karabat said:

"With the AKP's deep relationships... Colombia is an important stop in drug trafficking. Some ships where drugs were seized either departed from Colombia or stopped there. Remember, it was revealed that imaginary trade was conducted with Colombia, which was said to be selling masks and disinfectants during the pandemic. Actually, there was trade, but it did not involve masks and disinfectants. The name of AKP's Binali Yıldırım and his family had also been mentioned there. People had a New Year's joy, and the AKP destroyed that too. We don't call the AKP merchants of hope for nothing. They stole people's New Year's hopes. The bird of luck became the bird of the 'tüpçü' (gas cylinder seller)."
