CHP protests AKP's bridge privatization claims with 'for sale' ad: 'Bridge with no expenses, high revenue'

The CHP has responded to claims that the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on the Bosphorus, along with certain highways, are to be privatized with a "bridge for sale" ad. In a post resembling a real estate listing shared on the CHP's social media account, it was stated, "For urgent sale, no trades considered, foreign buyers preferred."

Following CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's statements during his group meeting regarding claims that the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge on the Bosphorus, as well as some highways, would be privatized, the CHP shared a 'for sale' ad image on social media.

Prepared to resemble a real estate listing with headings such as "saraydan.com" and "Urgent, from the owner, bargain bridge with a Bosphorus view," the image included the following hypothetical information:

Price: 3.5 billion lira

Condition: Like new

Features: From the owner, no expenses, bridge with high transit revenue

European-Asian view, dual-continent connection, prestigious location

Tolls are updated via an inflation-sensitive system.

For urgent sale, no trades considered, foreign buyers preferred.

The CHP social media unit shared the image with the following sentences: "The Republic's heritage, offered for sale by Palace Real Estate, belongs to the people; we will not let you sell it! We will hold these spendthrifts who put this ad in the window accountable at the first ballot box!"
