CHP Provincial Chair Dr. Gökhan Şenyürek attacked
A dispute broke out for unknown reasons between A.A.K., the father of a child who had been taken to the inpatient ward after being circumcised at a private hospital in the city, and general surgery specialist Op. Dr. Gökhan Şenyürek.

Following the verbal and physical assault by A.A.K., the situation was reported to the police by Şenyürek.
The individual who attacked Op. Dr. Gökhan Şenyürek, who is also the CHP Giresun Provincial Chair, at the hospital in Giresun has been taken into custody.
HEALTH STATUS IS GOOD
Upon the complaint filed by Op. Dr. Şenyürek, who also serves as the CHP Giresun Provincial Chair, the police detained A.A.K.
It was reported that Şenyürek is in good health.
Provincial Health Director Muhammet Bulut stated in a post on the directorate's social media account regarding the incident that Şenyürek was subjected to a physical assault while on duty, adding: "A judicial process has been initiated regarding the incident. We find violence against our healthcare workers, whose only goal is to serve human life, to be inhumane for any reason whatsoever, and we condemn it." he stated.
CONDEMNATION OF THE ATTACK FROM CHP CHAIR ÖZEL
CHP Chair Özgür Özel condemned the attack carried out by a patient's relative against Dr. Gökhan Şenyürek, who is also his party's Giresun Provincial Chair.
In a post on his social media account, Özel stated, "I convey my best wishes for a speedy recovery to our Giresun Provincial Chair Dr. Gökhan Şenyürek, who was subjected to a verbal and physical attack by a patient's relative, and I condemn the attack that took place."
