CHP questions Yerlikaya on 'Syrian' data: 'How did identity information fall into these hands?'
The sharing of identity information on social media accounts to incite unrest during incidents targeting Syrian refugees in Kayseri has been brought to the parliamentary agenda. CHP MP Yüksel Mansur Kılınç has submitted a parliamentary question for Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya to answer.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Yüksel Mansur Kılınç has submitted a parliamentary question to Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya.
Recalling that while incidents targeting Syrians were ongoing in the provinces of Kayseri, Hatay, Adana, Şanlıurfa, Bursa, and Gaziantep at the beginning of July, identity information belonging to Syrian refugees under temporary protection was shared on the mobile messaging channel Telegram to incite unrest, Kılınç directed the following questions to the Ministry of Interior:
“On which dates and on which social media or mobile messaging channels was the identity information of Syrian refugees under temporary protection published?
How many Syrian refugees under temporary protection had their identity information published on social media or mobile messaging channels?
How did the identity information of Syrian refugees under temporary protection, which should only be held by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Interior Presidency of Migration Management, fall into the hands of the person or persons inciting action against the refugees?
What actions have been taken against the relevant administrators of the Ministry of Interior Presidency of Migration Management regarding the leaking of identity information of Syrian refugees under temporary protection?
What measures have been taken against the security risks that may arise from the leaking of identity information of Syrian refugees under temporary protection?
What measures are being taken to ensure information and data security at the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, which holds all identity information of our citizens, and the Presidency of Migration Management, which holds identity information of immigrants and refugees in our country?”
