CHP reacts to Murat Kurum: You are chasing political gain!

CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik responded to allegations that a person distributing AKP election brochures was assaulted in the Maltepe district of Istanbul.

Çelik refuted the claim by quoting a post by AKP’s Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayoral Candidate Murat Kurum.

In his post, Çelik stated the following:

“Your only business is lies, slander, and defamation. Now you are chasing political gain by creating victimhood out of a crime! The issue is this: brochures containing lies and slander, which do not bear any party logo, are being distributed in the streets in a pirate manner by throwing them around. This is an act that does not specify which party it belongs to, may serve provocative purposes, and incites the public to hatred and enmity. This act is a crime under the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). The person caught in the act is currently free, while the people who tried to prevent the crime are in custody under your instructions. Our lawyers are following the process! Give up your habits of slander, lies, montage, and setups!”
