Suat Özçağdaş, Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman responsible for the Ministry of National Education and Member of Parliament for Istanbul, reacted to the new curriculum program announced by the Ministry of National Education, titled 'Century of Turkey Education Model', in a post on his social media account.
Özçağdaş stated that this prepared curriculum is the Turkey of the dreams of sects and religious communities.
"THE GOAL OF RAISING RELIGIOUS AND VENGEFUL GENERATIONS..."
Expressing his reaction to the new curriculum program in a post on his X account, Özçağdaş stated that the 'Century of Turkey Education Model' was prepared without taking the opinions of stakeholders other than groups close to the government, and said, "The most fundamental point that must be identified is this:
This curriculum, imposed on our country under the title of 'Century of Turkey Education Model', may be the Turkey of the dreams of sects and religious communities that they are trying to pass off under the guise of NGOs, but it cannot be accepted as the contemporary education program of our Head Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who said, 'The Republic wants generations with free ideas, free conscience, and free wisdom.'
In its current form, the curriculum is not an education program that serves the future of Turkey, but an archaic education manifesto of the Justice and Development Party government, which has not given up for even a single day on its goal of raising religious and vengeful generations."
