MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli targeted the CHP during his speech at his party's group meeting yesterday. Speaking about the operations directed at the CHP, Bahçeli said, "The one complaining is CHP, the one complained about is CHP, the informants are CHP, the one taking the bribe is CHP, the one giving it is CHP."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in his response to MHP leader Bahçeli, stated: "It has come to this point. So, this one is CHP, that one is CHP, the thief is CHP, the corrupt one is CHP. You will know who you are talking to and how you are talking. Look, all of Turkey is talking, while some are silent. The person shot in the middle of Ankara is MHP. Those who shot him and are being tried say they are MHP in court. The instigators are MHP. The person silenced immediately after being released is MHP. Those who silenced him are MHP. The only one not talking is you, MHP! Only you!"
THREATENING WORDS FROM YALÇIN TO ÖZEL
A threatening statement came from the MHP in response to Özel's sharp remarks. MHP's Semih Yalçın attacked Özel, saying, "The language of threats, finger-wagging, etc., does not work on us. We respond to those who threaten us in the language they understand, and we shove the finger of the one who wags it back into their eye with a corresponding word."
"YOUR CALIBER IN POLITICS IS SMALLER THAN THE BARREL DIAMETER YOU BOAST ABOUT"
As the tension between the MHP and CHP continues, CHP's Murat Emir also joined the debate. Making a statement on his social media account, CHP's Emir gave the following response to MHP's Yalçın's threatening words:
"Semih Yalçın;
Once again, you have insolently targeted our Chairman with a post that we struggle to read and that we understand you wrote in a single breath.
But it is clear that no one can hold a candle to you when it comes to 'turning contradiction into an art form.' On one hand, you say 'making base accusations against people whose innocence has been proven,' and a few lines later, you declare our mayors, for whom not even an indictment has been written, as 'thieves.'
Are your friends who are being tried for shooting your fellow nationalist innocent, while our mayors elected by the people's vote are guilty? Also, your interest in firearms in your statement caught my attention. What you call politics does not proceed through 'magazines,' 'pistols,' or 'poking fingers'; it proceeds through law and courtesy.
I fear your caliber in politics is smaller than the barrel diameter you boast about."
