CHP's 'not long now, we'll see your skills in opposition' retort to AKP: 'You called him a coup plotter, then sat at his table'

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel, regarding AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik's remarks about the opposition, said, "Have you solved all the country's problems, and now it's the opposition's turn to be lectured? Get out of here!

We are not going to learn how to be an opposition from you! It won't be long; after the first general election, we will see your skills in opposition as well... We hope you don't present the same inconsistent and unproductive picture in opposition as you did in government," he said.

CHP Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel responded to AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik's remarks regarding the opposition in a statement made via his social media account.

Yücel noted the following in his statement:

"First you called Sisi a coup plotter, then you sat at his table... You roared at Israel in the squares, but behind the scenes, you continued trade and sent ships to Haifa... You swallowed the insults of Trump and Tom Barrack... You tried to stain the CHP's policies, which embrace every segment of society, with ugly words and slanders...

You conducted election campaigns with edited footage and exploited the national sentiments of society... You told fairy tales about the judiciary being independent and impartial, and turned Turkey into a country of 'dawn raids'...

You released criminals onto the streets, threw the innocent into Silivri, and disregarded the presumption of innocence... You talked about development, but you exhausted the country's 100-year accumulation... You said inflation would fall to single digits, but you couldn't even bring it down to 30 percent... You promised to increase employment, but you finished off the textile industry, closed factories, and left thousands of people unemployed. You talked about a new strategy in agriculture, but you victimized hazelnut producers and destroyed olive groves... You were going to reform education, but you couldn't even afford to buy soap for schools...

"WE UNDERSTAND THAT HEARING THE TRUTH MAKES YOU ANGRY"

Let this be a brief note on consistency for the AKP, which tries to teach us consistency.

Ömer Çelik, we understand that you get angry and frustrated whenever our Chairman Özgür Özel reminds you of these and similar truths. We understand that hearing the truth makes you angry. Your ministers are avoiding accountability for the Kartalkaya disaster... You are not ashamed to thank your minister who sold disinfectant to his own company... You don't blush when the Red Crescent sells tents to earthquake victims... Your conscience doesn't ache when earthquake victims are left on the streets...

You change your tune when reminded that you collaborated and walked the same path with FETÖ for years...

When you have no answer, you know nothing but to use fallacies... But we will not stop shouting the truth. Because we do not live in fear of the ballot box like you do.
