Following the loss of 12 soldiers in Northern Iraq, the CHP, which had called on the government to declare a national day of mourning, took concrete steps in this direction in the municipalities it governs.
Under the instruction of Chairman Özgür Özel, municipalities run by the Republican People's Party (CHP) have postponed events such as celebrations and concerts for three days. Following Özel's instruction, a letter signed by Deputy Chairman Gökan Zeybek was sent to CHP municipalities, stating: “12 of our children have been martyred in the context of the fight against terrorism. For this reason, I request that you postpone your previously planned organizations such as celebrations, concerts, and cultural/arts events for a period of three days, and I extend my condolences to all our people.”
