CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut reacted to TurkStat's announcement of an annual inflation rate of 48.58 percent, stating, "You can hide it as much as you want, but citizens know very well what inflation is in the markets and grocery stores."
TurkStat announced the consumer price index (CPI) data for October. Accordingly, inflation increased by 2.88 percent monthly compared to the previous month, while annual inflation stood at 48.58 percent.
CHP Deputy Chairman Burhanettin Bulut, in a statement on his X account regarding TurkStat's inflation data, noted the following:
"According to the Palace's TurkStat, which sells rosy dreams, monthly inflation in October was 2.88 percent; annual inflation was 48.58 percent.
According to ENAG, however, monthly inflation in October was 5.57 percent; annual inflation was 89.77 percent.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TURKSTAT AND ENAG IS TWO-FOLD!
You can hide it as much as you want, but citizens know very well what inflation is in the markets and grocery stores."
