Bakan, regarding the seizure of approximately 10 tons of narcotics on a ship arriving from Brazil in Spain, askedInteriorMinisterAli Yerlikaya, "Whatdid Turkey do in this case?"and, regarding internationaldrug trafficking,He criticized the fact that the Turkish police were not involved in the operation.Bakan also used the phrase, "This company appears as a Turkey-based Turkish company."The Spanish National Police and Navy conducted an operation on a commercial ship in the Atlantic Ocean.
The Spanish National Police and Navy conducted an operation on a commercial ship in the Atlantic Oceanconductedin the operation, approximately 10 tons of cocaine-type narcotics were seized. In the operation carried out, the largest amount of narcoticsever seized in Europe to date was confiscated. The owner of the shiploaded with drugs is Kamer Shippingfrom Turkey & Trading Co.
Bakan's statement is as follows:
"We are asking Ali Yerlikaya: Where is the investigation file for the 10 tons of cocaine? Spanish police seized approximately 10 tons (9,994 kg) of cocaine on a ship arriving from Brazil and took 13 people into custody. The international leg of the operation involves the DEA (USA), the Brazilian Federal Police, the UK's NCA, and authorities from France and Portugal. Who is missing? Our police are not there. Why not? Ours are chasing street dealers. This is not a story about street dealers. This is an international shipment. There is money, there is organization, there is a route, there is a port. The issue is not the small-time dealer on the street.not the main issue; the real issue is those who set up this operation and those whomanage the money.
Inopen source ship records, the ship named 'United S', which is stated to be the subject of the seizure, shows IMO 7359149; Registered Owner / Commercial Manager: KAMER SHIPPING & TRADING CO. This company is based in Istanbul, Turkey, and is a Turkish appears as a company. This is not an accusation of a crime;however, if there is suspicion, the state's duty is to investigate andquestion it.
"WHAT THE GOVERNMENTDID"N OTA STRUGGLE, BUT A SHOW"Ali Yerlikaya, I am asking you, what have you done in this case? It is easy to
hunt celebrities at the Bebek Hotel. It is easy to share operation videos in front of the camera. But if 10 tons of cocaine have been seized, the real work begins there: How did thiscargo set out ?did it come from? Who financed it? Through which corporate network was it transported? Where did the money flow? There is one truth:The government's fight against drugsis most of the timenot a fight, but a show.Cameras are set up; through popular names like actors, fashion models, and businesspeople, they say 'look'at what we are doing. They say 'we caught it'. A fewvideos, a few photographs... That's it. The fightagainst drugs is not about serving uptabloid figures. The fightagainst drugs is about the money, the route, the organization, the logistis to apprehend it.
"HASTURKEY INITIATED AN EX OFFICIO INVESTIGATION INTO THIS FILE?"
The public has a right to know: Has Turkey initiated an ex officio investigation into this file? Has MASAK examined the money trail? The port sexits, weight documents, agency, and broker connections been investigated? Has direct information sharing been conducted with Spain?
"IF THERE IS A 10-TON SHIPMENT, THE STATE IS BEING TESTED THERE"
This country cannot manage the fight against drugs by turning it into a spectacle through small-scale targets. If there is a 10-ton shipment, the state's integrity is being tested there.is there an exam for it.”
