Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel has called on the government to hold early elections in November 2025.

The AKP responded to Özel's call for early elections by stating, 'It is not on our agenda.'

According to a report by Cumhuriyet, CHP officials who made a statement on the matter said, "If Erdoğan wants to be a candidate, the latest date we will support a parliamentary decision for an early election is November 2025. If he comes out and wants an early election just for his own convenience, we will not accept it."

Drawing attention to the state of the economy, party members stated, "Turkey's problems cannot wait another 4 years. We say we are ready for an election at any moment, but conditions point to November 2025 as the most appropriate date."

"ERDOĞAN, MAKE YOUR DECISION"

CHP leader Özel spoke at the Labor Bureaus Academic Board meeting in Kocaeli. Reiterating November 2025 as the date for early elections, Özel had called out, "The date we are calling on Erdoğan is very important. If you are going to make a decision for an early election, we are in; do not knock on our door afterwards. Erdoğan must make his decision by November 2025. If their strongest candidate is still Erdoğan, then by all means."
