CHP Spokesperson responds to AKP's Ömer Çelik on 'FETÖ methods' and 'junta cadre': 'To your failed coup attempt'

The echoes of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remarks that "Turkey is being governed by a junta" continue.

Making a statement today, AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik criticized Özel, saying, "The use of the expression 'junta administration' emerged as a result of disrespect for democracy.

The CHP has been the driver or supporter of political junta mentality. If there is talk of junta mentality, the CHP will be found equal to it."

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel criticized Çelik, stating the following:

"Ömer Çelik, the spokesperson for Erdoğan—a man of the salons whose support on the streets has been wiped out—continues his chronically diseased rhetoric against our party without looking in the mirror and without a hint of shame...

Throughout its history, the Republican People's Party has stood against coups and by the side of our nation. This was the case on May 27, March 12, September 12, and July 15.

Mr. Ömer Çelik seems to have forgotten the speech our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel gave in parliament on July 15,

and the support they requested from our party to repel the treacherous coup attempt by FETÖ, to whom they had handed over all the state's resources and under whose tutelage they conducted politics until July 15...

If they think we will bow down to today's junta cadre, which applies the same methods used by the judicial wing of the FETÖ terrorist organization—which once stole the lives of Atatürkist and patriotic officers of the Turkish Armed Forces, journalists, and intellectuals through a judicial junta—to our party, our municipalities, our mayors, our presidential candidate, and his colleagues, they have another thing coming...
