Statement from CHP spokesperson Yücel on the brawl during delegate elections: Request for permanent expulsion

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated regarding the brawl during the Atakum District Presidency delegate elections in Samsun, "In line with the reports from both our party inspectors and our provincial presidency, the individuals considered to be responsible for the incident have been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion and with precautionary measures."

Fists flew during the brawl that broke out at the Atakum District Presidency neighborhood delegate elections, where CHP Atakum District Presidential candidate Prof. Dr. Şevket Özkaya was kicked in the face, and Ayhan Abdik (46) was seriously injured. While 2 people were arrested in connection with the incident, CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated in his remarks on the matter that they had discussed the issue at the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting.

Stating that the responsible individuals and those named were referred to disciplinary action with a request for permanent expulsion, CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel said, "These incidents are events that we, as the CHP, never want to see.

Within the competition of politics, this rivalry can sometimes intensify and reach undesirable points, but violence can never be justified.

Violence is unacceptable. We discussed this issue at today's MYK meeting.

A disciplinary process has been initiated regarding the individuals whose names are mentioned in this incident, or rather, those who are considered to be responsible for the incident.
