CHP Spokesperson Yücel's 'minimum' call to Erdoğan and Minister Şimşek

Yücel made a statement regarding the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, which continues under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel at the party headquarters.

Wishing peace for all humanity for the month of Muharram, Yücel congratulated the A National Football Team for carrying Turkey to the quarter-finals in the European Football Championship.

Arguing that the latest inflation figures announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) are not credible, Yücel said that the salaries received by civil servants, retirees, and minimum wage earners have melted away against inflation in 6 months.

Noting that Turkey is among the countries with the lowest minimum wage in Europe and that approximately 50 percent of the working population lives on wages at or near the minimum wage, Yücel said, "The minimum wage should be increased to at least 25 thousand liras immediately.

The lowest pension should be raised to the level of the minimum wage. Retirees must absolutely be given a welfare share."

"WE WILL CARRY OUR RETIREES ON OUR HEADS"

Stating that CHP Chairman Özel has given the good news of the "Retired Public Card" to retired citizens, Yücel continued as follows:

"Many of our municipalities have mobilized all their resources to support our retirees. We provide many forms of support to our retirees to meet their basic needs.

Now we are combining all of these into a single card and implementing a system that will allow you to receive the services available on your card from all CHP-run municipalities. We will carry our retirees, who have served this country for years and produced added value, on our heads. When we come to power, we will provide them with the life they deserve, worthy of human dignity."

Reminding that Deputy Chairman in Charge of Education Suat Özçağdaş is preparing for a 24-hour press conference to draw attention to the problems and difficulties experienced in education, Yücel announced that they would take the "Turkey Century Education Model" and, if it passes through Parliament, the "Teaching Profession Law" to the judiciary.

"IT IS CONCERNING IN TERMS OF LAW"

CHP Spokesperson Yücel stated that they are meticulously following the Sinan Ateş murder trial and said, "There is an attempt to cover up the Sinan Ateş murder. This case has become a case where the law has been taken hostage by the political institution. The point we have reached is concerning in terms of law.

The statements to be made by the political power, which cannot show the will to tear down the wall built in front of the judiciary, regarding the rule of law and justice in this country have no meaning."

Emphasizing that the CHP is ready to take responsibility regarding refugees and that they will offer all necessary support, Yücel noted the following:

"Our Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel, plans to visit Damascus within the month of July. Because we believe that Turkey and Syria can solve this problem together by sitting at the table.

Every segment must demonstrate the will so that Turkey no longer has a refugee problem.

Let no one have any doubt that we, as the Republican People's Party, will make the necessary effort to find funds from Europe."
