CHP statement on 'investigation at Beykoz Municipality' reports: 'Only information was requested'

It was reported that some tender files of the municipality were seized under the instruction of the prosecutor's office as part of an investigation launched into the CHP-run Beykoz Municipality. CHP Beykoz District Chair Mahir Taştan made a statement regarding the investigation.

The Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation following allegations that the Beykoz Municipality Private Secretary V.G. had accepted bribes.

It was alleged that inspectors had arrived at the CHP-run Beykoz Municipality and that numerous tender files had been seized. 

STATEMENT FROM CHP'S BEYKOZ DISTRICT CHAIR

CHP Beykoz District Chair Mahir Taştan responded to the claims that inspectors had visited Beykoz Municipality under the instruction of a prosecutor and that numerous tender files had been seized, stating, "The prosecutor's office is requesting documents from the municipality, there is nothing else. Information is being requested. There is no inspector involved."

CHP Beykoz District Chair Mahir Taştan responded to the claims that an investigation had been launched into Beykoz Municipality, that inspectors had visited under the instruction of a prosecutor, and that numerous tender files had been seized during the Rota program on Halk TV. Emphasizing that the allegations were not true, Mahir Taştan spoke as follows:

"It is fake news. Documents were requested based on a letter from the prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office is requesting documents from the municipality, there is nothing else. Information is being requested. There is no inspector involved. It was requested around 17:00 in the evening. There is no raid as mentioned in those reports. No inspector came. Those reports are incorrect. There is nothing else to say. The documents will be prepared and delivered, only information was requested, that is all."
