CHP Ümraniye candidate Erdoğdu provides update on missing votes

In his statement regarding the non-final results of the March 31 local elections, Erdoğdu said, "1,195 of our votes in Ümraniye were recorded incorrectly due to a data entry error."

CHP mayoral candidate Aykut Erdoğdu had stated in a post on his social media account earlier in the day, "A decision has been made to recount the votes in Gaziosmanpaşa, which the CHP won. Our request for a recount in Ümraniye, for which we applied on the same and similar grounds, was rejected. Two different decisions cannot be made on the same issue in the same province. We will follow this up to the end."

Erdoğdu shared the following information on his social media account again: "1,195 of our votes in Ümraniye were recorded incorrectly due to a data entry error.

These are our initial findings, and we have corrected them. We are continuing our investigation."

According to unofficial results, AKP candidate İsmet Yıldırım received 42.45 percent of the vote in Ümraniye, while CHP candidate Aykut Erdoğdu received 40.14 percent. Meanwhile, there is a difference of 9,501 votes between the two candidates.
