CHP's Yavuzyılmaz alleges 'parallel structure' in IMM: 'We will share the documents'

CHP Deputy Chairman responsible for Energy and Natural Resources, Deniz Yavuzyılmaz, has made striking allegations regarding the past terms of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM).

Yavuzyılmaz alleged that a secret structure was established within the municipality during the AKP era at the IMM and that public resources were transferred to foundations through this structure. Yavuzyılmaz stated, "We will explain with documents how the IMM was plundered."

In a statement made on his X account, CHP's Yavuzyılmaz announced that they have identified a parallel municipal structure named the "New Presidency" within the AKP-led IMM.

Yavuzyılmaz stated that as a result of their research and investigations, they found not only this structure but also a second parallel structure established through the economic enterprises of foundations. He stated that they have documented that public resources were transferred to these structures outside the IMM through these mechanisms.

In his statement, Yavuzyılmaz, who said that the relationships between foundation managers and AKP and the then-IMM officials have also been revealed, stated the following:

"I present this to the attention of the public!

As a result of our research;

In the AKP-era Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality;

We have identified a parallel municipal structure named the ‘New Presidency’.

Furthermore, we have documented that a second parallel structure was created through the Economic Enterprises of Foundations, and that through these channels, public resources belonging to the IMM were transferred to these structures.

We have uncovered the relationship between foundation managers, the AKP, and IMM officials.

Starting tomorrow, we will share with documents how the IMM was plundered by these mechanisms!"
