CHP's Yavuzyılmaz challenges Minister Yerlikaya: 'If you have the guts, release the report'

CHP Deputy Chairman Deniz Yavuzyılmaz made a statement on his social media account regarding the vehicles allocated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) to the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency between 2017 and 2019.

Stating that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) resources were irregularly allocated to the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency during the AKP era, Yavuzyılmaz addressed Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya. Yavuzyılmaz said, "If you have the guts, release the investigation report in which the AKP's crimes were covered up."

Deniz Yavuzyılmaz stated the following:

"I am addressing the Minister of Interior! If you have the guts, release the Investigation Report in which the AKP's crimes were covered up! A response has been received regarding the documented criminal complaint I filed concerning the 59 vehicles that the AKP-era Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality irregularly allocated to the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency between 2017 and 2019. According to this corruption, which we documented down to the license plates, makes, models, and allocation periods; the IMM illegally allocated a total of 59 vehicles to the AKP for 14 thousand 657 days.

The IMM rented 36 of these vehicles from a private company and then placed them at the disposal of AKP officials for a total of 11 thousand 810 days. The rental costs, fuel expenses, and HGS-OGS toll costs of the vehicles were also covered by the IMM budget. Even though public resources were clearly handed over to a political party, the court's result was: A decision of 'No Grounds for Prosecution' was issued regarding the IMM officials of the period! A decision of 'No Grounds for Prosecution' was issued regarding the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency officials of the period!

The investigation by the Inspection Board, initiated with the approval of Ekrem İmamoğlu, had uncovered the irregular vehicle allocations during the AKP era. According to the court, after this investigation report was sent to the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry prepared an Investigation Report. Allegedly, there were no criminal elements, no legal liability, and no action to be taken regarding these vehicle allocations made to the AKP Istanbul Provincial Presidency! This is called a handout. It is covering up public resources that were illegally transferred to the AKP!"
