CHP's Deniz Yavuzyılmaz shared a 1994 document from Erdoğan's term as IMM Mayor. According to the document, Erdoğan began receiving attendance fees from 5 separate companies just 2.5 months after taking office.
Yavuzyılmaz announced that after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was elected Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in the March 27, 1994 elections, he began receiving attendance fees from companies affiliated with the municipality just 2.5 months later.
In the shared document dated June 10, 1994, it is seen that Erdoğan was simultaneously receiving salaries from the boards of directors of İSFALT, İSBAK, World Trade Center A.Ş., Halk Ekmek, and Istanbul Ulaşım A.Ş.
Yavuzyılmaz used the following expressions in his post:
“Just 2.5 months after President Tayyip Erdoğan became the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in the March 27, 1994 local elections;
We have determined that in addition to his mayoral salary, he began receiving attendance fees from 5 other companies at the same time.
In 1994, they started with 6 salaries every month, and in 1995, they increased it to 8 salaries!
Right at the very beginning of the road, at their first opportunity, they got off the ship the citizens were on and boarded another ship.”
