CHP Yozgat Provincial Chair Abdullah Yaşar reacts to 'dismissal': It is a medal of honor

CHP Yozgat Provincial Chair Abdullah Yaşar, who was dismissed today by a decision of the CHP Central Executive Board (MYK), stated, "The MYK of the appointed null administration is unauthorized and void. Because there is no Party Assembly. The Party Assembly has resigned. Therefore, it has not granted authority to the MYK."

Following the announcement that the Yozgat Provincial Organization was dismissed by the CHP MYK decision and that Kazım Eliaçık, who previously served as provincial chair for a short term, was appointed in his place, party members and the provincial administration gathered at the party headquarters.

It was learned that Provincial Chair Abdullah Yaşar and his administration would not leave the party building overnight and would meet with district organizations and party members to evaluate the situation. Party members showed their reaction by turning over the photo of Kazım Eliaçık on the board in the provincial building where the photos of the provincial chairs are displayed.

Dismissed CHP Yozgat Provincial Chair Abdullah Yaşar, speaking at a press conference held at the party headquarters, recalled their support for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the convention and said the following:

“Today, it was said that I, as the Yozgat Republican People's Party Provincial Chair, and my administration have been dismissed by the appointed null administration. The MYK of the appointed null administration is unauthorized and void. Because there is no Party Assembly. The Party Assembly has resigned. Therefore, it has not granted authority to the MYK. This decision is a medal of honor for me, for us, and for the Yozgat Republican People's Party provincial organization. The rally held in Yozgat and the success achieved in Yozgat have disturbed the appointees who do not want the party's success. As the Yozgat Republican People's Party administration, we have always tried to stand on the right side of history. We voted for Mr. Kemal in the past. But at this point today, it was out of the question for us to be side by side with any collaborator or to be with them. Therefore, history will write this. We consider this decision null and void. Tomorrow, I will make a very extensive statement to you, the public, and the press with all our district organizations and all our party members; there will be very serious statements. We will share these with the public and our valuable press tomorrow.”

Emphasizing that they will continue their path with Özgür Özel, Yaşar concluded his statement as follows:

“As Yozgat, we are on the right side of history. We are behind our elected Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel to the end. Neither I personally nor my friends have ever stood by the wrong as much as our minds allowed. We have not been on the side of the wrong. Mr. Özgür Özel making the party the 1st party after a 47-year hiatus has disturbed not only the AKP but also some people under the guise of the Republican People's Party who cozy up to the AKP. Therefore, no one can stop us from this march, from our righteous cause, or turn us from our path. We are stronger in Yozgat than we were yesterday. History and time will show all of this.”
