Striking reminder from CHP's Yücel regarding the 'diploma investigation': If you sign that...
CHP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Deniz Yücel stated, "They are trying to have a rightfully earned diploma, which was obtained in full compliance with legal regulations 35 years ago, cancelled by pressuring authorized individuals, solely to prevent Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu's candidacy."

The Republican People's Party (CHP) Central Executive Board (MYK) met under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel.
Holding a press conference regarding the meeting's agenda while the MYK was in session, Yücel commemorated the March 18 Martyrs' Remembrance Day and the anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory.
Criticizing the government over the economy, Yücel stated that citizens cannot meet their basic needs, price tags change 2-3 times a week, and the salaries of employees and retirees are eroding.
Regarding the regulation to increase the holiday bonus for retirees to 4 thousand liras, Yücel argued that retirees are "experiencing a great disappointment."
Touching upon the ongoing investigations into Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Deniz Yücel claimed that attempts are being made to smear İmamoğlu and the CHP with "nonsensical" allegations.
DIPLOMA REMARK: "THIS IS AN EFFORT TO INTIMIDATE"
Describing the events as "a process aimed at striking a blow to and obstructing the CHP's capacity to conduct opposition," Yücel used the following expressions:
"This is an effort to intimidate, an intimidation operation. They called it the 'fool case,' they called it the 'insult case,' they called it 'bid rigging.' Now, solely to prevent Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu's candidacy, they are trying to have a rightfully earned diploma, which was obtained in full compliance with legal regulations 35 years ago, cancelled by pressuring authorized individuals."
"IF YOU SIGN THAT..."
"I am addressing those in Istanbul today who are being forced to sign a document they do not believe in. If you do not sign this, you will possess a badge of honor that you can tell your children, grandchildren, and students about, and carry with pride on your chest. But if you sign that just because someone wants you to, you will live with the shame of it for a lifetime, and you will suffer the pangs of conscience for a lifetime as well."
