In Istanbul, stickers bearing the logos of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and İSPARK were placed on parked vehicles. The stickers, used for fraudulent purposes, read 'Scan the QR code to pay your parking debt' and stated that the debt must be paid within 24 hours. People who scanned the QR code were directed to a fake payment page set up by the fraudsters, where money was withdrawn from their credit cards.

STATEMENT FROM İSPARK

İSPARK warned Istanbul residents against such fraud attempts and announced that there is no debt payment process via QR codes. A criminal complaint has been filed against the perpetrators regarding the fake stickers and QR codes.
