In accordance with the Law on Political Parties, Treasury 'aid' will be provided to the 5 political parties that passed the threshold in the last general elections.

According to a report by Sözcü, it has been learned that 5.059 billion TL in Treasury aid will be provided to the parties in 2025.

THE LION'S SHARE GOES TO AKP

In 2025, 2.016 billion TL will be given to the AKP,

1.435 billion TL to the CHP,

570 million TL to the MHP,

548 million TL to the İYİ Party,

and 499 million TL to the DEM-Green Left Party.

The 5 political parties receiving aid this year were allocated 3 times the amount of that year's budget aid (4.5 billion TL) in 2023 due to the general elections, and 2 times the amount (6.7 billion TL) this year due to the local elections. With the 2025 amount, the total funds entering the parties' coffers over a 3-year period will reach 16.3 billion TL.

HOW IS TREASURY AID TO POLITICAL PARTIES DETERMINED?

In Turkey, support has been provided to political parties by the Treasury since 1965. According to the Law on Political Parties, parties that participated in the most recent parliamentary elections and passed the general threshold are paid a total amount each year equal to two-five-thousandths (0.0004) of that year's general budget revenues. In addition to this, parties that received more than 3 percent of the vote despite remaining below the threshold are also provided support in proportion to the party receiving the lowest amount of aid. In election years, this amount triples.
