TİP Istanbul MP Ahmet Şık has made striking claims regarding the drug investigation in which Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested, a case that has sparked public debate. Şık argued that the process might not be limited to arrests and that other figures in the bureaucracy could also step down from their posts.

Following the arrest of Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the potential resignation of Furkan Torlak, Coordinator of the Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM), who was mentioned in the investigation, had become a major topic of discussion.

In an article he wrote for Medyascope, Şık used the following expressions:

"There is no doubt that the operation in which Mehmet Akif Ersoy was arrested, which caused astonishment in everyone, was political, even though he himself has backtracked. We do not yet know how many more victims the operation that sent Ersoy to prison and forced his close friend Furkan Torlak to resign will claim."

In his article, Şık also included other claims reflected in the corridors, stating:

"However, claims have been leaked that a male deputy minister and a female advisor from the Presidential Complex will also resign."

Another notable section in the same article included the following assessment:

"Let us note that on December 2, the day Ersoy came to Ankara to prevent the operation against him, the deputy minister who is alleged to be resigning also visited MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli."
