According to a report by Alican Uludağ from Now Haber, it is alleged that Tekbıyıkoğlu had initially decided not to permit the event held under the guise of a commemoration for two alleged leaders of the PKK terrorist organization on May 17.
A PHONE CALL FROM ANKARA: 'PERMIT THE CEREMONY'
According to the claim, Tekbıyıkoğlu was instructed to permit the event following a phone call from Ankara, with the condition that "there will only be a commemoration, no slogans."
It is alleged that Tekbıyıkoğlu, who reportedly described the events that took place during the ceremony to his close circle as "unacceptable scenes," submitted a petition to the Ministry of Interior on May 19 requesting to be removed from his post, recalled to the center, and appointed as a Chief Civil Inspector.
Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu was appointed as the Governor of Tunceli in 2023.
Television footage also captured Governor Tekbıyıkoğlu experiencing emotional moments during the May 19 ceremonies.
There has been no statement from the Ministry of Interior regarding Tekbıyıkoğlu's petition.
