Claims of a new role for Kurtoğlu: All eyes in the Gendarmerie turn to the new decree

In the Gendarmerie's promotion and appointment decree, the reassignment of General Hüseyin Kurtoğlu to the command's disposal drew attention. Following this assignment, which normally implies retirement, it has been suggested that a new decree could see Gendarmerie General Commander General Ali Çardakçı retired and replaced by Kurtoğlu.

Following the Turkish Armed Forces, the decree regarding promotions and appointments in the Gendarmerie has also been published.

The most notable aspect of the decree was the appointment of Van Gendarmerie Public Order Corps Commander Ünsal Bulut and Public Order Chief Murat Bulut, who were promoted from Major General to Lieutenant General, as Deputy Gendarmerie General Commanders, while General Hüseyin Kurtoğlu and Lieutenant General Münir Güzel, among the four existing deputy commanders, were reassigned to the command's disposal.

According to Müyesser Yıldız, normally, "being reassigned to the command's disposal" means being retired. However, the situation of General Hüseyin Kurtoğlu in particular has become a subject of curiosity. It is suggested that with a new decree, Gendarmerie General Commander General Ali Çardakçı could be retired and replaced by Kurtoğlu.
