Cihantimur's lawyers had requested that the juvenile detention center be changed, claiming that their client was being held under poor conditions at the facility in Newark.

However, a two-page letter sent from the detention center to the Boston Federal Court on August 23 refuted the lawyers' claims.

According to a report by the Sabah newspaper, the letter, which contains information about Timur Cihantimur's daily life, stated that Cihantimur is in a comfortable environment, plays card games, and speaks with his relatives via video conference three days a week.

The letter also emphasized that Timur Cihantimur takes lessons, reads books at certain times, and has the right to make phone calls.
