Clash breaks out during drug operation in Istanbul!

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that a clash occurred during the 'Narkoçelik-8' operations targeting drug dealers, and that 5 suspects, one of whom was wounded, were apprehended.

Police officers were fired upon during the Narkoçelik-8 operations conducted against individuals involved in drug trafficking in Arnavutköy, Istanbul.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 5 people were apprehended in the clash, one of whom was wounded.

As a result of the operation, 3 unlicensed pistols, 1 automatic pistol, 1 long-barreled automatic weapon, 1 automatic shotgun, 5 precision scales, 11 mobile phones, various amounts of narcotics, and a large amount of foreign currency and Turkish Lira were seized.

Providing information regarding the operation, Yerlikaya included the following statements in his post on his X account;

As a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch; during the operation carried out with the support of Special Operations Police at an address in Arnavutköy District, targeting individuals suspected of drug trafficking in the Bağcılar and Esenyurt districts of Istanbul, a clash broke out. Among the suspects apprehended as a result of the clash;

E.E. (Wounded): It was determined that he has a criminal record for numerous counts of drug trafficking and use, intentional injury, theft, and violation of Law No. 6136, and also has active arrest warrants for drug trafficking and supply, unlawful seizure of personal data, theft, drug use, and theft of property belonging to public institutions and organizations.

F.A.: It was determined that he has a criminal record for resisting a public official, drug use, and theft from workplaces and institutions.

Y.D.: It was determined that he has a criminal record for drug manufacturing and resisting a public official.

V.K.: It was determined that he has a criminal record for drug manufacturing, numerous counts of intentional injury, theft, robbery, firing a weapon in a residential area, deprivation of liberty, and threats, and also has active arrest warrants for drug trafficking, theft, robbery at night, firing a weapon in a residential area, damaging public property, resisting a public official, and use of unlicensed weapons.

Ç.K.: It was determined that he has a criminal record for intentional homicide, numerous counts of drug manufacturing, intentional injury, and violation of Law No. 6136, and also has active arrest warrants for drug or stimulant trafficking and supply, and escape of a convicted or detained person.
