Cold weather warning from the Istanbul Governor's Office
The Istanbul Governor's Office has announced that temperatures in the city are expected to drop by 6 to 12 degrees, warning citizens against potential adverse conditions.

In a statement made on the Governor's Office's social media account, it was noted that according to the Turkish State Meteorological Service, air temperatures are expected to drop on Tuesday, February 4, and are forecast to fall by 6 to 12 degrees starting Wednesday, February 5, dropping below seasonal norms across the region.
It was noted that the daily minimum and maximum temperatures expected in Istanbul starting Tuesday are forecast to be between 2 and 5 degrees.
The statement further indicated that the cold weather is expected to persist for a one-week period, accompanied by winds expected to blow strongly from the north, and that sleet and snowfall are forecast during this period.
The statement urged citizens to be careful and take precautions against snowfall, as well as icing and frost events.
