Milli Piyango's New Year's Special Jackpot of 400 million TL being won by a ticket purchased 'online' from Colombia has become a major topic of discussion.
Regarding the issue, CHP Deputy Chairman Özgür Karabat reacted with the words, "The jackpot of Demirören, who does not pay his debts to the state, is also suspicious," while a statement regarding the Colombia claim came from Milli Piyango.

"In the Milli Piyango New Year's special draw held on Sunday evening, December 31, the 400 million TL grand prize was won by a full ticket purchased via Milli Piyango Online. The winner of the grand prize resides in Istanbul and is a male Turkish citizen born in 1969. In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law, no further information regarding the winner can be provided without their consent, and the claim that 'the jackpot was won in Colombia' is completely baseless and untrue.
In order to register for Milli Piyango Online, it is legally mandatory to enter a Turkish Republic identification number. Membership can only be opened after this information is verified via MERNİS (Central Civil Registration System). Furthermore, due to current legal regulations in our country, members must have an account at a Turkish bank in order to play games and receive jackpot payments. Jackpot payments are also made to the members' personal bank accounts located in Turkey.
It is extremely regrettable that these baseless claims and speculations, initiated by some accounts sharing anonymously while hiding their true identities on social media, were made the subject of a public statement by an individual serving as a deputy chairman of a political party without verifying their accuracy.
We kindly inform the public not to give credence to the baseless claims produced against our institution on social media, and that we have initiated legal proceedings against those who produce and spread disinformation.
