Tekin Kartal, born in Silvan, Diyarbakır, who lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Spain, was attacked in the head by an unidentified person who has not yet been apprehended.

According to sources involved in the investigation, it was alleged that Kartal was "the leader of a mafia group trafficking heroin and cocaine across Europe, primarily in the United Kingdom." The purpose of the mafia meeting was to reach a compromise between two mafia groups, one under the control of Tekin Kartal and the other also of Turkish origin.

The Spanish press wrote that "the execution of Kartal was carried out by his enemies" and that this incident was "just one of the events in which Turkish mafia groups, with the late Kartal in the lead role, clashed with weapons in Barcelona."

It was stated that organized crime experts from the police force of Spain's Catalonia region (Mossos d'Esquadra) said that "this assassination would have consequences, but they believe the repercussions will not be in Spain as this is a war being waged on an international scale."

'TEKİN KARTAL' SALUTE IN THE BARRACKS

According to the report in 10 Haber, it has emerged that a video was filmed in a Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) unit in "memory" of Tekin Kartal. In the report, it is seen that soldiers, who are assessed to be commandos, are made to chant commands with the words, "To live is to resist, Tekin Kartal."

It was observed that this video was uploaded to Tekin Kartal's own YouTube account. Following Tekin Kartal's death, everyone commemorated him with the words "To live is to resist," which became synonymous with Kartal. The name of Kartal's YouTube account is "To live is to resist."
